As I’m sitting here, It’s spitting snow outside and I’m starting to wish it was mid-June. Winter hasn’t even gotten its proper start yet and I’m already wishing it away… shame on me. For now, I’m going to pretend it’s 85º and enjoy my frosty Acai Matcha Smoothie by the fire.
I’ve recently started going back to they gym and I’m so sad I ever stopped. The first few times I went I was so intimidated by the grandeur of it all, I only stuck to using the cardio equipment. Now, I’ve moved on to using the slightly more complicated weight machines and I’m obsessed. On the days that I have to talk myself into going, I use the age-old bargaining trick by promising myself this smoothie if I go. It’s true what they say, you’ll never regret working out after the fact, but you’ll regret not doing it. But I love getting to look forward to my post-workout smoothie and this one has been my go-to. The matcha green tea powder has just enough caffeine to keep me from crashing and the acai and banana are great for replenishing my nutrients after releasing all of that energy.

- 2 frozen acai puree packets*
- 1 banana
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp honey
- ½ tsp matcha
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds
- Combine all seven ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Enjoy immediately.
Acai is naturally pretty tart and not sweet, so depending on the sweetness of your banana, you may need to add more honey to adjust to your liking.
