Cocktail time! Don’t let the name of this Brown Derby Spritzer fool you. While you may think that that this drink is named for the Kentucky Derby, it is actually a take on a classic cocktail named after a Los Angeles diner! My favorite cocktails are those that are sweet, sour, and of course…full of bourbon. This recipe fits all of those descriptions and more! Perfect for a hot spring/summer day, I’m definitely going to have this one by my side all season long!
- 1.5 oz bourbon
- 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- .5 oz honey syrup (1 part honey, 1 part water)
- sparkling water
- Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a glass. Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water and garnish with a twist of grapefruit zest.
