Happy awards show season! If you’re like me, your January and February is filled with more evening gowns and acceptance speeches than touchdowns and slam dunks. I’m a sucker for all things major motion picture, which means we always make a big deal about Oscar night. Whether you’re creating a spread to watch the red carpet or the big game, these Citrus Marinated Olives and Feta are an easy way to impress without having to turn your stove on.

I talk a lot about my lack of sports interest, but I AM pretty jazzed to see Jennifer Lopez do the halftime show. I mean, it’s about time, right? Plus she’ll be joined by Shakira and I’m totally here for that. I hate to be that person, but I’ll likely be watching something on Netflix until halftime. Ooops. I will, however, be using it as an excuse to make all the appetizers. I’ve been having a moment with olives lately. This recipe came about because iI can’t quit the Whole Foods olive bar but it’s also like $7 a pound. My go-to selection is the Tangerine Chili Olives and I’m 100% obsessed. My version isn’t quite as sweet as theirs and I added cubed feta to make it more of a substantial snack/app. I used Castelvetrano olives (my absolute favorite) but you could really use any green olive you wish. If you choose to make these ahead of time, make sure you bring them out of the fridge a little bit before serving so that the oils can warm up just a touch. Make sure you serve with a crusty baguette for dipping!
