If you don’t drink, the holidays can be a tough time of year. Enjoy this Mandarin Mint Spritzer and you’ll feel right at home with everyone else!
It’s pretty much a certainty this time of year that you’ll be going to a ton of parties where the alcohol will be flowing like a river. If you’re not into alcohol or are a recovering addict, this might make you want to avoid those parties altogether. Don’t give up having a great time with your friends and family just because you’ll have to sip water all night. Get creative and make your own mocktail that you can enjoy alongside your pals. This Mandarin Mint Spritzer is a refreshing sparkling drink that uses the most that winter citrus has to offer.
While the holidays are great for a lot of people, internal struggles can make it a dreadful time for others. If you encounter someone at the mall who is less than festive, think about what they could be battling in their life before you stick them with a Grinch label and say “Bah Humbug!”. For a lot of folks, the holidays are a reminder of loved ones who are no longer with us, failed relationships, and financial woes. If you can do something to go out of your way to make someone feel loved then you should absolutely do that. Basically, just try to give everyone a break this time of year, eh? You never know when you might need someone to do the same for you.
Since I haven’t been drinking alcohol as of late, this mocktail was a no-brainer for me. First of all, I’ve been OBSESSED with mandarins. Like, I eat a minimum of three per day — easy. I decided to pair the rind with bright fresh mint in a citrusy simple syrup that I used to sweeten up my favorite tangerine sparkling water. Seriously, the simple syrup transforms it into a drink worthy of a high-end spa. No joke, this drink might just replace my beloved G&T for good.
Don’t forget to check out Palmer Lake Recovery Center and be sure to treat others with the love and kindness that reflects the message of the season. Happy Holidays!
