This Sparkling Apple Brandy Cocktail is the perfect soul-warming nightcap for chilly fall evenings.
Some people gravitate more towards cocktails in the summer while I, on the other hand, prefer a warming winter libation. During the colder months, I tend to reach for things like bourbon and brandy more than I do in the summer and that makes me very excited.
My husband and I have a weekly tradition called ‘Prosecco Friday’s’. Every single Friday (without fail) we get a bottle of prosecco or Champagne and unwind from the week. In an effort to spice things up a bit… this cocktail was born.
I am a huge fan of the French 75. If it’s on the menu at a restaurant, that’s usually what I’ll order. Traditionally, it consists of gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and Champagne. I decided that I wanted a more autumnal take on that, so this cocktail is made up of brandy, apple cider and Champagne. Easy breezy! - 1.5 ounces brandy
- 2.5 tbsp apple cider
- 1 cup of ice cubes
- 1/4 cup chilled brut Champagne
- In a cocktail shaker, combine brandy and apple cider. Add ice and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
- Strain into Champagne flute and top with Champagne.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired.
