It’s funny, as a new mom I always assumed that Norah would start on purees at 6 months and continue them all the way up to a year. Somewhere along the way, we discovered baby-led weaning and decided to start offering her bigger pieces of food to feed herself, along with traditional blended baby food. The result was amazing! She’s such an independent eater and loves trying new things. I don’t think there’s anything that’s she’s sampled that she hasn’t gobbled up! That being said, she LOVES this Sweet Potato White Bean Marinara Sauce. The great thing is, it’s totally adaptable! It’s great served on its own if you’re baby hasn’t started solids yet, but if they have, you can spoon this over pasta (we like Banza chickpea pasta for Norah!). You can even add a little salt and pepper to taste and it’ll be perfect for the whole family!

I mentioned in my recipe for Banana Berry Puree with Sweet Potato, Greek Yogurt, and Qunioa that we have been obsessed with our Babymoov Duo Meal Station. I kid you not, this thing has gotten as much of a workout as my trusty stand mixer. Every single meal that I’ve made her has been either steamed, blended, or both! For this recipe, the sweet potatoes are steamed, then blended with no-salt beans, tomatoes, and spices. One of my favorite features of the machine is that you can quickly defrost frozen baby food with ease. We don’t have a microwave, so before this came into my life, I had to transfer the food to the fridge hours before I needed it and you know I never really remembered to do that. You can also sanitize your bottles and utensils which is great since we never got a bottle sterilizer and again, we don’t have a dishwasher. She’s currently obsessed with her sippy cup and I love that I can pop it in there and it’s clean in no time. If you have a loved one who is soon to have a baby, the Babymoov Duo Meal Station would be the perfect gift.
