“Jiro Dreams of Sushi”

“Jiro Dreams of Sushi” is a documentary about sushi master, Jiro Ono, and his 3 Michelin Star sushi restaurant in Tokyo, Japan.  Sukiyabashi Jirō is a restaurant in the basement of a subway station with 10 seats and where reservations must be made at least one month in advance. The 20 course sushi menu, starts at 30,000 yen (roughly $265) depending on the market that day and what fish is available.  The commitment and passion that Jiro has for his craft is unmatched.  If you need a little motivation to get up and accomplish something, then you should definitely give this film a chance.  Nothing makes you feel lazier than watching an 85 year old man work 7 days a week!  Not only is the message behind this documentary extremely inspiring, the cinematography is impeccable. It makes every piece of sushi look mouthwateringly delectable.  I have definitely decided that making a trip to Sukiyabashi Jirō has been added to my bucket list.  I cannot go my whole life without having the best sushi in the world!

SORTED Food

The boys at SORTED Food have created a foodie empire that consists of a youtube channel with over 1 million subscribers where they upload new videos three days a week.  Their Youtube description says “SORTED is the largest cooking conversation on YouTube… We’ve got hundreds of easy recipes from simple dinners and midweek meals to delicious desserts and naughty treats, with inspiration from all over the world thanks to your tips and tricks.”  All of that and they are British, whats NOT to love?  They also have an amazing website, and an App you HAVE to download.  The App features over 700 high quality recipe videos, along with a community of other food lovers that you can share your experiences with. If you have not checked out any of the SORTED food resources, I highly recommend you do so!
