Boozy Southern Belle Slush

Start making your summer cocktail list now because this peach and mint Boozy Southern Belle Slush needs to be at the very top!

In honor of the 145th Kentucky Derby running today, I’m sharing this refreshing Boozy Southern Belle Slush that’s infused with mint, frozen peaches, sweet tea, and of course, bourbon!

Being from Kentucky, people always assume that the Derby is a huge deal for everyone. Don’t get me wrong, it’s hard to avoid it since it’s basically a month-long celebration for the locals. While it is fun to visit the track the week of Derby, the day of is so filled with tourists the day of it’s a tad overwhelming.

I much prefer the parties that come along with the Derby festivities than the actual two minutes itself. Plus, I’m a huge animal lover and I can’t stand the thought of the horses being in any amount of pain. I’m sure it’s totally fine but I’m a softy… what can I say?

Just because this cocktail is inspired by the Derby doesn’t mean that it’s reserved for that time of year!

This drink would be perfect by the pool or at the beach, especially if you have a hankering for a frosty drink that isn’t a pina colada or margarita. Although, I’d take all three in succession, please!

Imagine mixing a mint julep (the official drink of the derby) with sweet peach tea and then making it icy af. All I can say is, YUM.
